The Celts lived in western and central Europe in the 1st millennium BC. Celtic mythology, which included earth gods, various woodland spirits, and sun deities, was particularly rich in elfin demons and guardian spirits, beings that still pervade the lore of peoples of Celtic ancestry. The claddagh is a symbol of Ireland. Created in the 1600s in a small fishing village outside Galway. Two people come together in a deep friendship, signified by hands.
